Homicide incident under investigation in Yaphank

The Suffolk County police closed off the local Speedway gas station and stores across in Yaphank reporting a homicide investigation. This is on Horseblock Road near Old Dock Road. The incident was reported this morning around 7am when calls came in for assault.

As of now the preliminary investigation say from a local witness a a dispute between a couple resulted with woman dead but police have not disclosed details pending investigation. Another witness who usually shop at the location say a victim was stabbed to death during a dispute across the gas station parking lot.

The medical examiner transported the body of the female victim to conduct autopsy to determine the cause of death.

The crime scene unit is working on the scene.

As of now the investigation continues.

Update - A perp is in custody as of Sunday.
