Homeowner missing after fire on Long Island

Firefighters reported a heavy fire at a home in Island Park around 2am. This is in the vicinity of Sunset Avenue and New York Avenue in Nassau County. Over 100 firefighters from other agencies worked to bring the fire under control which took around 90 minutes.

Local residents stated a couple has been living at the home for a long time. Police are now searching for one of the couple, a male who has not been seen.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Detectives are also working on the case to find the missing male.
