Highway to water and disappeared in Flushing

Last night around 9pm, police flashed sirens on a vehicle and the driver refused to cooperate. Then a pursuit started on the parkway. This is on the Whitestone Expressway after the bridge.

The vehicle was tracked by other cops joining the pursuit which then went to the Grand Central Parkway.

The suspect took the Flushing Marina Exit and abandoned the vehicle. Then jumped into the water and started swimming.

The NYPD then notified ESU scuba divers but the suspect was found nowhere.

The search was canceled.

The vehicle was impounded.

So far no arrests.

Police didn't disclose if the suspect swam back to the Bronx.
