Heavy police presence at 145th Avenue and 222nd Street after a resident of a home on the block opened a package in the mail. When the 73 year old male opened the package, it exploded and suffered burns. Chopper hovering above Springfield Gardens. From the package explosion, the victim suffered burns to over 50% of his body and is in serious condition at Nassau University Medical Center. Hazmat is on the scene. Ongoing investigation.
