Heavy fire damaged homes in East Elmhurst

Firefighters are at 93rd Street at the unit location 26/26 reporting a fire that started around 3pm and still raging in East Elmhurst.

The fire is now declared 4th Alarm with more than 300 firefighters on the scene working to bring it under control.

Neighbors called 911 after smoke arise from the roof which then extended to the home.

Shortly, the fire extended to both neighboing homes.

All residents are evacuated.

Two members of FDNY transported to local hospital with injuries.

EMS is checking all for injuries.

The fire marshal is also on the scene.

Once the fire is brought under control, the next investigation is to what caused the fire.
