Hamburg man arrested for sex crimes against children

On September 17, 2026, the Bureau of Criminal Investigation stationed at SP Boston arrested Seth A. Powell, 22 of Hamburg, NY for Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child (D Felony) and Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child (E Felony).

The Bureau of Criminal Investigation out of SP Boston with the assistance from the Troop A Computer Crimes Unit, conducted an Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) investigation in the town of Hamburg.  Investigation determined Powell possessed child pornography and was disseminating child pornography.

Powell was arraigned in the town of Hamburg Court and remanded to Erie County Holding Center and scheduled for a felony hearing on September 21, 2026.
