Grand Larceny arrest in Hicksville

The Eighth Squad reports the details of an arrest for a Grand Larceny that occurred on Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at 7:56 AM in Hicksville.

According to Police, Officers responded to a 911 call for a stolen 2010 Ford Explorer on Michigan Drive, which had been left unattended with the key in the ignition in front of the victim?s home. While conducting a canvass of the area, Officers located the vehicle, attempted to stop the vehicle but the driver refused. The Officers observed the driver exit the vehicle on Salem Road, but he failed to put the car into park causing the vehicle to strike a parked vehicle on Salem Road. The driver ran and hopped a nearby fence, entering a nearby backyard. Police located the suspect and he was placed under arrest at 8:25am without further incident.

Defendant Clifton Woods, 19, of 5 Michigan Drive is charged with one count of Grand Larceny 4th degree, one count of Trespass, one count of Leaving the Scene of an Incident: Property Damage, and one count of Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle 3rd. He will be arraigned on Wednesday, April 22, 2020, in Mineola. (From NCPD)
