Bronx man busted for robbery in Long Island

Fourth Squad detectives report the arrest of a Bronx man for a Robbery that occurred on Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at 4:30 pm in North Lawrence.

According to detectives, an unknown male entered Lowes located at 253-01 Rockaway Turnpike. He was observed by a store employee placing multiple items under his clothing and attempting to leave without making payment. The subject was approached by a store employee and asked to return back into the store. The subject claimed he was a cop and had a gun. He continued to threaten violence against the male employee, 38, and everyone in the store. After making the threats, the subject removed an object and pointed it at the victim. Police were notified.

Sekou Shutsha, 51, of 2010 Bruckner Boulevard was arrested without incident.

Defendant Shutsha is charged with Robbery 1st Degree, Robbery 2nd Degree, two counts (2) Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, Petit Larceny, Menacing 2nd Degree and Possession of Burglar Tools. He will be arraigned on Wednesday, April 22, 2020 in Mineola. (From NCPD)
