Glen Oaks man charged with sex act and robbery pleaded guilty

On Tuesday, November 14, Alok Parekh, 30 of Glen Oaks pleaded guilty to charges after his arrest on February 27 of this year from his home. Parekh was charged with first degree criminal sexual act, third degree robbery, fourth degree grand larceny and resisting arrest. He took the guilty plea and charges were reduced to petit larceny and reckless endangerment as part of the deal agreement. Also, an order of protection is issued against Parekh not to go near the victim. The judge at Nassau County District Court will impose his sentence on December 21 which is his next court appearance. He is facing a year in jail. The original incident occurred on February 20 when Parekh met a woman from dating app in Inwood. While the female victim was in the car and driving around, she decided to get out. Police reported this is when Parekh took her phone by force and ordered her to withdraw money from a local ATM. The victim compiled and then police stated Parekh forced her to engage in a sexual performance in the vehicle. Afterward, Parekh demanded more money from ATM. Again, the victim complied and withdrew cash. Then she was let go and was told her phone and wallet was on the ground but the victim reported they were not there. pic from NCPD.
