Glen Head man arrested for luring a child into his vehicle

Police arrested Denis Melara, 32 of Glen Head and charged with luring a child, criminal solicitation and endangering the welfare of a child. The incident happened on Thursday, February 1st around 9am. The victim, a 15 year old female was walking to school on Grand Blvd and Melara approached to get into his vehicle, a white Ford saying he is a friend of his mother. Melara then advised not to go to school and she became suspicious. After requesting to drop the victim, she alerted police. Melara was arrested the next day.
