Garage fire resulted explosion in Freeport

The Nassau County firefighters are in Freeport reporting a garage fire resulted from an explosion. This is on Lillian Avenue near Pershing Place. The incident was reported this afternoon around 4:30pm. Local residents called 911 when the explosion sound was heard. The fire marshal reported three garages were burned down from the incident.

EMS reported no injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Firefighters continue to work on the scene.
