Flushing doctor busted for three OD deaths

Lawrence Choy, 65 of Flushing was arrested and charged with reckless endangerment and manslaughter for allegedly prescribing lethal drugs causing three deaths related to overdoses. He was taken into custody in Wisconsin in March and was brought to Manhattan on June 7. His Franklin Avenue office in Flushing has been closed after authorities paid a visit and moved to Wisconsin. He was charged with 220 counts for criminal sale of prescription of controlled substance, 2 counts of manslaughter, 9 counts of reckless endangerment. The three victims identified are Eliot Castillo, 35 of Jamaica, Michael Ries, 30 of Long Island and another man from Suffolk County who is 43 years old identified as Daniel Barry. He pleaded not guilty.
