First grand larceny and now order of protection in Garden City Park

The NCPD came to the same block yesterday after a group of Asian Indian Sikhs came back to protest against a woman who was arrested for allegedly taking a temple's scripture book.

The arrest was reported on October 2 in Garden City Park after a large group of people protested in front of the defendant's home. The book was returned to the temple that same night. After releasing the woman with charges, temple goers reported she was at their property again.

On Friday late afternoon, the same group went to protest demanding the same woman not to be near their temple.

The NCPD arrived at the scene and the same defendant was taken into custody after what was reported a gun was displayed.

Further investigation confirmed it was a BB gun.

Nassau County issued an order of protection against the woman not to enter the temple and its surrounding.

New charges are pending.

The investigation continues.
