Fire with injuries and fatality in Jamaica

Firefighters reported a home fire on 168th Place in Jamaica with one dead and multiple injuries. This is by 85th Avenue near Hillside Avenue. The fire started around 1:30pm and was brought under control around 2:30pm.

Local residents are advised to keep windows and doors closed due to heavy smoke in the area.

The fire started in the second floor extended to the rest of the home. EMS say the dead is a male in the 70's in a wheelchair.

The fire marshal will determine the cause of fire.

Firefighters continue to work on the scene.
