Fire resulted injuries and displacement in St Albans

FDNY reported heavy fire at a location in St. Albans resulting in multiple injuries and displacement. Also, more than 5 firefighters suffered injuries. The fire started at a commercial location on the corner of Linden Blvd and 200th Street around 11:30am this morning. The fire started in the second floor residential unit and then expanded to the surroundings.

The fire was declared a fourth alarm. By 2pm, the fire was brought under control.

All residential units were evacuated and moved to shelter temporarily. All the commercial locations also remain closed.

The fire marshal continues to work on the scene to determine the cause of the fire.
