Fire in Flushing public housing reported with injuries

The FDNY reported a fire at the NYCHA Bland House around 2:15am last night. This is by College Point Blvd near 40th Avenue in Flushing. EMS transported the injured to local hospitals. The fire marshal said the incident started on the 10th floor.

By 3am, the fire was brought under control and residents were back inside the apartment around 4am.

Also, the fire marshal recovered an e-bike which may have started the fire but not confirmed due to ongoing investigation.

A local member of the NYC Council refused to respond to the e-bike fire around the city caused by electric overload. Many New Yorkers are being paid to collect e-bikes from the city and charge them for a fee. The responsibility lies with the payee and not the company. After all, the companies donate well to the local elected officials.

Also, the NYCHA Bland House is one of the heartbeat of Flushing’s largest voter base untouchable by developers who have been pursuing to take over but so far unsuccessful.
