Fire at a home in Freeport has residents moved to shelters

This morning around 7:30am, firefighters reported heavy fire in the attic of a private home in Freeport. This is in Nassau County.

By 8:30am, the fire was brought under control.

EMS reported injuries.

At the same time, all residents from the home has been moved to shelters including children.

The cause of fire is under investigation.
