Fire and bomb making investigation in Astoria

FDNY reported fire at 24-07 19th Street in Astoria around 2pm. The fire caused massive damage to the dwelling. EMS reported of smoke inhalation to the people from inside the home. The fire marshal continued the investigation. By 9pm, FBI and NYPD bomb Squad are at the same location reporting the location was used as a bomb making place. More investigation are underway and the entire vicinity is closed. Residents were evacuated to another location.

Update - Authorities reported potassium nitrate was found inside the home. The man in questioning has history of mental illness. He is in the hospital with injuries from the fire in cuffs. More investigation are underway.
