Jericho Turnpike is reporting local stores under evacuation in New Hyde Park due to a gas line struck during construction.

This is by N 6th Street.

EMS is also on the scene.

Heavy gas odor reading in the area.

Police are rerouting traffic on Jericho Turnpike.

The National Grid is working on the scene.
