Earthquake and fire from elsewhere had many worried

The NY Governor's office announced that due to a wildfire in Canada there is smoke all over including NY and NYC which shows smoke like conditions in Manhattan. Many locals were advised to close the windows until smoke cleared.

Then around 12:30pm, another earthquake was reported in New Jersey. This is the same vicinity as the one last time but it was 2.7 magnitude according to the US Geology Survey. This was heard by some New Yorkers but there were no damages.

The Mayor's office confirmed two people died while over 60 were taken to hospitals for Legionnaire Disease reported in Central Harlem. The incidents occurred inside the cooling centers. It’s a treatable type of pneumonia, and not contagious or spread by window air conditioners.
