E bikes falls under extreme harsh enforcement in NYC

On Thursday, October 19, Mayor di Blasio reported that E-bikes are illegal to operate in all NYC streets whether its for fun or delivering fast food. E-bike constitutes a motorized scooter and police are enforced to take it away from people riding them. In 2017 until October 19, 923 ebikes were confisticated and 341 for the year 2016. 1,800 civil and moving summonses were issued. Starting January 2018, businesses that allow workers to use ebikes will receive summons and a $100 fine for a first offense and a $200 fine for each subsequent offense.
