Driver in custody after striking two during protest in Huntington

The Suffolk County police reported a group of 25 people were marching in Huntington when a driver struck two people. It happened on Monday around 6:30pm on Broadway. The driver has been arrested and two were taken to local hospitals. Several witnesses other than the protesters told the police, roadway was blocked. The protesters reported the driver was trying to pass through but was told to wait. According to SCPD, the protest was not notified in advance. Ongoing investigation.
The new rule for protest in Long Island is apply in 24 hours notice and mandatory police personnel on the scene during the event.
