Discussion underway to ban phones in NYC schools

The NYC Dept of Education is in the discussion stage to ban phones from students at all public schools. The plan will be introduced in September with inputs from schools.

The enforcement may take effect by next February and students aren't pleased.

The preliminary discussion is to have the phone in a locker box during classes and can be used during lunch breaks.

More details are under works on the plan before introducing in September of the plan.

The NYS Governor is also on a plan to restrict social media platforms in schools statewide including NYC but not many Assembly or Senate members are supporting the bill.
