Delivery man broke leg during load near LA Fitness in New Hyde Park

On Tuesday, August 15 around 3pm, a lone worker unloading boxes behind LA Fitness slipped during rain and boxes from the truck fell on his leg. Paramedics arrived shortly and transported the victim to a local hospital. The back roads were closed due to the incident. A witness reported a driver was speeding inside the parking lot when the victim moved causing the incident but not confirmed. The investigation is ongoing.
