Delays continue on the parkway by the local airport in Queens

The local airport, LaGuardia, continues to face delays and cancellations for the third day after the deadly collision on Sunday night. At the same time, Grand Central Parkway continues to face the same issue in both directions extending to Manhattan and Long Island. As of now one of the runaways is closed until Friday where the incident took place.

The NYPD along with NCPD is monitoring both Grand Central Parkway and Northern State Parkway for traffic.

As of Sunday, both parkways reported higher vehicle accidents until today. On Sunday night, a car went into the woods by Lakeville Road resulting in serious injuries on the eastbound. Two cars reported fire at separate locations.

As for the incident, the National Transportation Safety Board says the preliminary stage suggests the crash was not a single mistake but a possibility of chain reaction all occurring at once. The investigation continues.
