Dead body investigation of a female victim in Suffolk County

The SCPD is investigating a dead body of a female found in Manorville yesterday afternoon. This was during an investigation of another missing woman on Long Island since February 2.

The patrol units were searching the area, when they discovered the body of an adult female in a wooded area, located on Connecticut Avenue, south of River Road, at 3:21 p.m.

The woman’s identity and cause of death will be determined during an autopsy by personnel from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner. Following a preliminary investigation, detectives believe the cause of death to be criminal in nature.

Detectives are asking anyone with information on this incident to call the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392.

Meanwhile, the search continues for the other woman missing.
