Dead body found on Cross Island Parkway in Bayside

Bayside - Police were called to the shoulder of Cross Island Parkway southbound after Northern Blvd around 5:30am reporting a car fire. FDNY contained the fire and found a dead body charred inside. Police has not disclosed additional details due to ongoing investigation. Also, police reported it was a single car car and no accident involving other vehicles. The latest update reported the 41 year old man had history of mental illness and killed himself by pouring gasoline. He lit the match before calling his family members. Reported 8am.
