Dead body found floating in Douglaston

Police are in Douglaston reporting a dead body found floating.

The body is found floating by Shore Road near Manor Road in Douglaston.

ESU is working to recover the body from the water.

The medical examiner is standing by to transport the body pending autopsy.

A witness told police a group of people went into the water to cool off and the victim was unable to reach the ground.

Another witness stated the group were working as landscapers and went to the water to control the heat.

Ongoing investigation.
