Cuomo confirmed part of NYC schools will be closed

Brooklyn and Queens schools with spike in COVID will close for two weeks starting tomorrow. The list is attached here within.

NYC mayor submitted the proposal of lockdown for high rising COVID spots in Tier 1. Cuomo approved for schools in Tier 1 only. This will affect at least 100 public schools. Also, private schools including daycare centers. NYC mayor want the lockdown Wednesday on both schools and businesses but he only got one wish.

The 20 zip codes have 5.5% ratio as of yesterday.

Cuomo says religious gathering can continue in the hot spots with 50% capacity. This is federal enforcement and Cuomo can't veto.

As for businesses, they can remain open and follow the emergency orders or face shut down after warning/violation.

Only NYC schools will close and not Orange and Rockland Counties.

Update - Students and staff in these hotspots will go immediately to remote learning. This is for zip codes: 11691, 11219, 11223, 11230, 11204, 11210, 11229, 11415, 11367.
