Creedmoor to expand love if lease is not renewed

The tents housing migrants at Floyd Bennett Field which belong to the National State Park have lease expiring for use in September. It’s up to the federal government to decide whether to renew the lease to continue to house migrants or not. Both Mayor and Governor are optimistic the migrants will stay and continue to expand the base while majority of neighbors around the Floyd Bennett Field want them gone.

September 2023 was the month NYC started placing migrants around various locations in the city.

If the lease is not renewed, then migrants will be moved to other locations including Creedmoor in Bellerose.

The NYC Mayor’s Office stated migrants will have OSHA cards, Occupational Safety and Health Administration's (OSHA) Outreach Training Program's 10-hour and 30-hour safety courses which are paid by taxpayers so they can work for the prevailing rates. More job training programs will be announced in the coming weeks.

The current expense per migrant in NYC is $132,000 per year which is expected to go to $200,000 as more taxpayer funds are being allotted for them.

Meanwhile, residents of Bellerose, Queens Village, Glen Oaks, Floral Park vicinity are facing harassment on a regular basis from migrants.

Despite pleas, local elected officials has not set up any meetings to address the main issues.

The NYPD data shows 100% increase in arrests at locations housing migrants.
