Corruption fighter replaced with campaign treasurer by NYC Mayor

NYC Dept of Investigations is now run by Mayor di Blasio's campaign treasurer after former boss Mark Peters was fired. Peters was fired by di Blasio after issuing reports of what's bad inside NYCHA, Rikers, Schools, Children's Services and slew of other agencies that had racked more problems than any other mayor.

Peters was fired after di Blasio reported of unprofessional conduct.

"When I informed the mayor that the DOI was obligated to make its findings public, he yelled at me [and] accused me of trying to bring his administration 'down,' " Peters stated. di Blasio replied, "I?m sure I?ve had conversations with Mr. Peters, and I?m sure I?ve had disagreements, but that characterization is false,"
