Civil charges against government officials for unrest in their cities

The US Justice Dept today reported civil rights charges either criminal or civil for unrest can be brought forth with evidence. This came after Justice Dept was given the green light to investigate riots, looting and starting fires or rioting with more than 500 arrests leading to government officials investigation. The first one exploring charges are against Jenny Durkan, the mayor of Seattle after unrest. Two more Democrat mayors are also under watch list for their cities damages and arrests.

Democrat speaker Pelosi responded with this after being in denial for a while, "We support peaceful demonstrations. We participate in them. They are part of the essence of our democracy. That does not include looting, starting fires, or rioting. They should be prosecuted. That is lawlessness."

The AG sent clear messages to all US Attorneys to re-emphasize to decide whether to bring charges and could potentially apply to some of the violent acts that have occurred. This includes NYC also.

More details are coming soon.
