Car stop in East Elmhurst had cops surprised of weapon possession

An NYPD patrol vehicle followed another vehicle on 23rd Avenue and 86th Street reported a license plate covered all around not displayed to the public. Police officers ordered the driver to pull over last night around 1:30am.

During the traffic stop, police discovered weapons, ammunition, knives and other devices along with warning messages related to terrorism. As per NYPD, officers discovered axes, batons, stun guns and more.

The Crime Scene Unit is investigating online posts of the suspect as well as the residence in Jamaica and other related locations.

Police didn’t disclose additional details or if the suspect is involved with any groups.

As of now, the suspect is charged with weapon possession.

The Joint Terrorism Task Force is also working on this case.

The investigation continues.
