Car fire vehicle flipped etc in CIP northbound

Police have closed off the Cross Island Parkway northbound near the Whitestone Expressway reporting a vehicle flipped, one caught fire, one hit the structure of the bridge. This resulted the Cross Island Parkway shut down for 3 hours when the incident was reported around 9:45pm on Saturday. EMS transported multiple injured to local hospitals. Police stated speeding was the cause. The investigation continues.
