CIP northbound is a mess in Elmont

Cross Island Parkway northbound by the UBS Arena, multiple vehicle accident with injuries. One car caught fire after striking a pole. Five people taken to hospitals. EMS and ESU are working on the scene.

Heavy delays all around.

This is the second car fire on the parkway. Around 10:20am this morning, a fully involved car fire on the southbound by Francis Lewis Blvd.
