Bus driver assaulted in Bellerose

Police are at the intersection of Cross Island Parkway service road southside and Union Turnpike reporting an MTA bus driver assaulted. The perp is a homeless man entered the bus without a fare. After ordering to leave the bus for not paying fare, he became violent and assaulted the bus driver who then called police. NYS Office of Mental Health arrived and transported the male to the hospital.
