Burglary suspects arrested in Roslyn Heights

The Sixth Squad reports the arrest of three Brooklyn men for an incident that occurred on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at 1:38 AM in Roslyn Heights.

According to detectives, officers responded to a call for a Burglary in Progress at the gas station located at 1 Powerhouse Road. Upon arrival, it was determined that three males broke a glass door, entered the business and then fled from the scene with a cash register. During the course of the investigation, the Defendants, Edwin Rodriguez, 20, of 379 Rockaway Avenue, William Taft, 19, of 769 Saint Marks Avenue and Shamel Stilley 24, of 303 Vernon Avenue were located nearby and placed under arrest without incident. Further investigation revealed that the defendants also pried open the rear door of Holiday Farms located at 374 Roslyn Road, where they attempted to open a cash register and fled without any proceeds.

Defendants Edwin Rodriguez, William Taft, and Shamel Stilley are charged with two counts of Burglary 3rd Degree. Defendant Edwin Rodriguez is additionally charged with Possession of Burglar Tools. They will be arraigned on Friday, March 27, 2026 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
