Burglary is up 75 in Nassau County

The Nassau County police reported burglary is up by 75% since January 1, 2020. The risk of jail was small and part of bail reform, the same suspects committed the crimes over and over. Also, Nassau County DA's office reported of 5 people arrested for burglary as part of the Chielan crew who are here illegally and more arrests are pending. Almost all the burglary suspects are out due to bail reform. Police reported most of the burglary incidents are in Mineola, Garden City, Great Neck, Glen Cove, Locust Valley and Sands Point.
