Bronx man arrested with stolen gun and drugs in vehicle

On November 16, 2025, Troopers from Troop NYC, SP Bronx, arrested Darnell Clinksdale (37) of the Bronx, for the following charges: Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Sell in the 3rd Degree, a class B Felony, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree, a class C Felony, Criminal, Possession of Stolen Property in the 4th Degree, a class E Felony, Aggravated Unlicensed Operator, a Misdemeanor, as well as several Vehicle and Traffic Law violations.

A Trooper was patrolling southbound on Interstate 695 in the Bronx when he conducted a traffic stop near the merge with 295 South, of a white 2018 Land Rover that entered the shoulder to go around traffic.  After a roadside investigation, it was determined that the operator of the vehicle, Darnell Clinksdale, was driving suspended. During a vehicle inventory, Troopers discovered a stolen handgun and a loaded, modified magazine, as well as drugs.

Clinksdale was placed into custody and transported to the NYPD 45th Precinct for processing.  He was remanded to Bronx Central Bookings to be arraigned at a later date.
