Bellerose resident s livelihood goes up in flames

Marie's Hot Dogs, the van that provide hot dogs, knishes and other food was destroyed completely at the Mobile gas station on the corner of Little Neck Parkway and Union Turnpike today morning around 10:30am. Luckily, Marie and her daughter were inside the station paying the cashier when her truck started fire. More than six fire trucks arrived on the scene and the entire area was closed by 105th Precinct. Traffic was rerouted and no other injuries were reported. The gas station also suffered fire and will be closed. Marie and her daughter are heartbroken and devastated. A lifelong resident in Bellerose who lives nearby from the incident has been selling from the same truck for over 20 years. Fire dept are investigating the cause of fire.
