Arrest made in rape investigation in Cayuga county

The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Auburn, NY, has arrested Christopher T. Quaile, 43, of Locke, NY, on charges of Rape in the Second Degree. The arrest follows an extensive investigation into allegations of sexual abuse involving a juvenile less than the age of 15 years old at his residence in Locke, NY, during the summer of 2023.

The investigation began on January 14, 2025, when Cortland County Child Protective Services (CPS) contacted the State Police regarding disclosures made by the victim. Investigators determined that Quaile engaged in criminal sexual conduct with the victim on multiple occasions in July 2023.

On March 5, 2025, after coordination with the Cayuga County District Attorney’s Office, an Order to Produce was obtained to bring Quaile from the Cayuga County Jail, where he was already in custody on separate charges. He was officially charged with Rape 2nd (D Felony) on March 10, 2025, at SP Auburn. Following his arrest and processing, Quaile was transported back to the Cayuga County Jail to await CAP arraignment. Prosecutors recommended no bail due to Quaile’s prior felony convictions and pending sentencing on an unrelated felony case.
