Arrest made in case of dog set on fire in Queens street

A man wanted in a horrific case of animal abuse that saw a dog dragged down a Queens street and lit on fire has been arrested, police said Tuesday.

Officials had been looking for him since Thursday morning, when cops say he was seen in South Ozone Park dragging the "motionless" dog near 128th Street and 116th Avenue.

The man was allegedly then seen pouring an accelerant onto the dog and setting the animal on fire before running off.

The suspect, 29-year-old Isaiah Gurley, of Queens, was apprehended a day ago on charges including animal torture, aggravated cruelty to animals and arson with intent to damage property.
