Armed robbery spree on the rise in Queens

Police reported from May, June to July, suspects wearing all black coverings with tinted windows are driving around night targeting people to rob. All of the suspects are armed with knives.

Police didn't disclose if the groups are all part of one or separate.

The latest incident was on 164 Street near Union Turnpike where a male was standing outside on the phone around 11pm was robbed of belongings. Then took off in a Honda Accord toward the Grand Central Parkway.

So far no one was injured.

As of yesterday, 181 people were robbed from May. Over the weekend, 14 people were robbed. This is from armed robberies not including mugging or assaults.

Police are advising all to be aware of the surroundings at night time and don't be alone as per Mayor's advice under the new campaign..
