Armed robbery at a local bank on Long Island

The SCPD reported an armed robbery at a local bank in Central Islip. This is at the Bank of America on Wheeler Road. The incident occurred around 9:30am when a suspect, male, black, entered the bank and displayed a weapon.

Then took off on foot with over $20,000 cash.

EMS reported no injuries but visibly shaken people inside.

ESU is working to collect evidence.

So far no arrests.
