Amazon is not good for NYC

Today Amazon announced a $25 billion investment to expand the data center in Mississippi. This includes over 2,000 high paying jobs over six figures which is not acceptable in the Long Island City section of Queens that was blocked from starting the company's operation due to non-union support. NYC is a union town which controls who is who in the government.

The Mississippi Governor who is Republican quoted this,

“Amazon isn’t just reinvesting in Mississippi — the company is once again betting on our people. Twenty-five billion dollars in two years is providing Mississippians with high-tech, high-paying opportunities, strengthening our communities and showing the world that our state is open for business. This is what transformational economic growth looks like, and it’s happening right here, right now."

Amazon is now expanding nationwide except NYC which the Mayor can only dream of. Imagine taxing the company with 45% for free buses, housing and more socialism in NYC. Only a dream now after another bad news came out. A new bill is in the work to hire locals around NYC instead of subcontractors for deliveries working for Amazon which will affect over 5,000 workers.

Today the company announced this in NYC, "To maintain our commitment to providing safe, fast, and affordable delivery ... we’d be compelled to seriously examine how we could still meet that commitment—which includes the potential for relocating operations and delivery facilities outside of NYC."

Well that's too bad for NYC but hey we can still use taxpayers who have jobs to drain more funds. Still a win for NYC.

Get back to work.
