After affordable housing di Blasio aims for public internet using streetlights

The mayor's office is reviewing a plan of how to add internet to streetlights in NYC. There are more than 250,000 streetlights in NYC and how they can be used for internet to provide for residents in the low income housing as part of the affordable housing accessories. The mayor's office reported with affordable housing comes with accessories for residents to live in NYC. Internet is the second in the early stage plan. The city already has LinkNYC on public sidewalks and its a similar plan. The plan if launched will compete with private companies such as Verizon and Spectrum.
