After Long Island now comes Queens for speed cameras on highways

Congratulations to Queens for adding a speed camera on the highway after success on Long Island Expressway on Long Island where construction is taking place.

For Queens, the NYS Dept of Transportation announced a speed camera on the Van Wyck Expressway between Jamaica Avenue and Atlantic Avenue where construction is heavy with work zones.

As of today until May 17, 20 roadways in NY have been announced locations for automatic speeding tickets which are $50 with no points. Oh yes, it's around the clock.

However, there will be no announcements which work zones the speed cameras will be positioned in the state including NYC in the coming weeks.

For this week, Nassau County has two roads with speed cameras and they are Plainview Rd and Sunnyside Blvd and NY-135 Powell Ave Exit and Entrance ramps. For Suffolk County, they are 495 Wading River Road to Yaphank Ave, NY-27 E/B Rte 27 Between Robert Moses Cswy & 5th Ave and 495 WB LIE at Washington Ave.
