Additional funds announced for animal shelters in Queens

The NYC Mayor announced additional funding of $1 million to the overcrowding of pets being dropped off at the Queens and Manhattan shelters after public outcry.

The funding will help the Animal Care Centers of NYC with more staff and care to meet with all animals capacity.

Maybe times are tight or many prefer not to have pets maybe the reasons. At the ACC, the holding time is 5 days if lost or the owner surrenders before new adoption or euthanization. The ACC works with many animal agencies with the adoption process throughout the city despite people continuing to drop off pets for unknown reasons.
