A pedestrian struck by public bus died in Astoria

The NYPD reported a pedestrian struck by an MTA bus died this morning in Astoria. The incident was reported at the intersection of Ditmars Blvd and 3st Street around 8am.

The driver of the public bus remained on the scene. This is the MTA bus with passengers inside.

The victim, a female, 40, died at the local hospital shortly.

Highway CIS continues to work on the scene.

The investigation continues.
