A pedestrian died after struck by train on Long Island

The SCPD reported a pedestrian was struck by a train and died on Long Island. This is near the Mastic Shirley station in Shirley.

The incident was reported on Saturday night around 11pm.

The medical examiner transported the body to conduct an autopsy.

ESU cleared the area around 1am and trains resumed service.

The investigation continues.
